Crooked Tree Pilates is a professional studio located in a private home in the heart of Culver City. A five minute walk, ride, or drive from Main St. and SONY studios, our convenient location has ample street parking (please do take note of the posted signs regarding street cleaning).
We started out in a living room in Venice Beach and feel lucky to have grown into a flourishing business with (thankfully!) a private studio well-equipped with two STOTT Reformers, a Balanced Body Chair, and a medley of other fabulous props designed to keep your workouts safe, effective, challenging, and interesting.

Crooked Tree may seem like an odd name for a Pilates studio. In an industry based on and devoted to acheiving perfect posture why is the tree crooked? Well the fact is that most of us are imperfect; our injuries, habits, and activities change our posture in small yet important ways. Just as the tree grows to accomodate the obstacles in it's pathway toward the sun, so do we. The human body has a spectacular resiliency and while we are capable of changing for the worse we are equally capable of changing for the better.
Choosing to pay attention to the seemingly insignificant misalignments in our bodies (regardless of your age, of your lifestyle, of your injuries: new, old, and ever present) can make a remarkable difference. Each of us is given one body in this lifetime. If we choose to pay attention to our bodies we'll get much better mileage out of them. Try a session and see what your body is capable of, you'll thank yourself later.
